The marketwas very volatile in the week ended March 26. The closing of both the indicesNifty50 and BSE Sensex was at crucial levels of 14.500 and 49,000 respectively. The rising cases of Covid-19 and weak global cues are the major reasons for thesame.

There was adecline of 236.7 points in Nifty50, which ended at 14,507.3, which is a sharpfall of 1.6 per cent. The Sensex on the other hand fell 1.70 per cent or 849.74points to end at 49,008.5.

On thesectoral front, Nifty Pharma surged by nearly 2 per cent while all other majorsectoral indices were down. Nifty auto fell 4 per cent while the Nifty MediaIndex had a fall of 6.6 per cent.

Consideringthe high volatility, which is prevailing in the markets, it is important forthe investors to stay calm for some time. It may prove out to be a good idea topick some good quality stocks on the declines.
